The world's first battery-powered espresso machine!
Stelton is launching the world's first battery-powered espresso machine named "Simply espresso". Nielsen Innovation joined forces with Stelton to widen the latter’s range of products and create the smallest electric espresso machine in the world.
Taking Stelton’s high end products into account, the first espresso machine of the brand was developed true to Stelton’s award-winning design. For this purpose, an entirely new technology was created too. In order to achieve the required pressure to make an espresso as good as the big and expensive espresso machines, a 16 bar compressor had to be produced.
The engineers collaborated to create the brewing system and meet the technical requirements while Nielsen Innovation’s designers worked on matching the compressor technology with Stelton’s stylish design and noble materials (stainless steel and high performance engineering plastics). « Simply espresso », a beautiful and great space saving device, is the result of this close and fruitful collaboration.
Following Nielsen Innovation’s philosophy: « Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication », Nielsen Innovation and Stelton created « Simply espresso », so simple that it can hardly be called a machine. It is actually a simple way of making good espresso without compromizing on taste. While the technology was licensed by Handpresso - Nielsen Innovation's spin-off - the aesthetic design was carried out by Nielsen Innovation.
As always with Handpresso’s technology, a new coffee ceremony has been created, this time in the house. The purpose is to make people share this espresso break together at the table. New uses are generated. Everybody takes part in the brewing and tasting. A new way of life is conveyed.
