A star awarded by the Observeur du design 11 to Mifasol, a playground designed by Nielsen Innovation for Foreco
November 2010
On November 8th, Nielsen Innovation's design was awarded a star by the Observeur du design 11 for the project Mifasol. The ceremony took place at the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie in Paris where the project will be exhibited till the end of March 2011. Mifasol is a playground of its own, not just recreational, but also educational and interactive. By jumping on slabs of different colors, the children produce sounds and get introduced to musical composition. Nielsen Innovation helped with the design and validation of a technical principle for slabs installed in a soft ground as well as the design of the whole playground, games included. For the green minds, Foreco and Nielsen Innovation also designed an off-line Mifasol playground, working with solar panels. In order to learn by playing, other topics like sports, maths… will also be adapted to the playground principle.
